In Lake Atitlán and its surroundings inhabit many species of birds. Diversity of colors, sizes, songs and origin, but all particularly beautiful.
In the garden of the Eco Hotel Uxlabil Atitlán we receive, every day, visits of very beautiful birds. These visits are documented in photography by our collaborator Juan Chocoy, a bird expert and official guide of our Mayan Birds (birdwatching) project.
Guests of our hotel in Atitlan can request a bird watching tour, which is guided by our expert bird guide, Juan Chocoy, originally from San Juan La Laguna and a Uxlabil collaborator for more than 5 years. This "birdwatching" tour is performed on the Cerro del Rostro Maya.
The fourth level of the Eco Hotel Uxlabil Atitlan is named "Birdwatching House" and each of the rooms is named after a kind of bird.
